Arts and Paintings Guidance by Arteet™

People need to represent what they see and experience on various media. While some write, some tell. But then, some other exclusive group use the application of paint, pigment or colour on other medium, to represent their feelings, aspirations and experiences. These people are called artists or painters, and they operate in different media, including the oil painting genre. Simply put, the use of oil on canvas as it is representative of an artwork has a generic name. Be it the representation of life, plants, animals, topography or a city’s perspective; once the impression is made with oil, then it is oil painting. Working with oil paint is an important art, since its thematic outlook is usually based on representation and clarity.

Consider the Mona Lisa which has surmounted rains, sunshine, moons and stars to still leave its name in the first page of Google when the world’s greatest artworks are searched for. Basically, oil painting gives an air of class, clarity and visual accommodation. Oil painting would later step in as the best media to communicate with the young and the old alike. Monet and Van Gogh are household names in the field of oil painting, as they have made their marks in various genres, using this medium.

Paintings usually stem from an artist’s personal experience with his environment. His or her constant physical or mental meeting-point with his environment are thus and always represented in his art works. In appreciating an oil painting, one should bear in mind that most artists are not usually going to depict something alien, except the abstract painters. This goes without saying that abstract painters usually depict an artwork which is always subjective to their understanding. Asides that, in appreciating an oil painting, we juxtapose what we know with what we see.

Noteworthy is the fact that there is no perfect or generic formula for appreciating an oil painting. This tends to say that arts appreciation, not minding the genre, engenders a greater level of subjectivism. However, the light, the shape and even the shape of the object are cogent arguments as to the appreciation of a typical oil painting. Since different artists have various ways of using the medium in making an impression in the sands of art, it goes to say that the viewers should rather appreciate their arts in ways akin to them.

Generally speaking, it is not in fact a sufficient condition to appreciate arts, that an art appreciator must have any knowledge of art. Rather, it is simply a necessary condition for one to have the most basic of art knowledge. What is thus sufficient in appreciating a typical oil painting is… your answer is as good as mine. If you answered ‘money’ for exhibitions, then go to my left. But if you answered ‘a discerning eye sight,’ then come into our kingdom of arts and see the rest of the oil-painting packages we have for your appreciation.
